Vulnerable members of the community - especially those who are unemployed and children who come from very poor families and who do not adequately benefit from school feeding schemes - are beneficiaries of a number of feeding schemes run by the IIS. The vision of these feeding scheme was born after we learnt of very disturbing information that in the surrounding communities, there are people who go to bed after only drinking water to try and keep their stomach full. This contradicted with the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) when He said that, "He is not a Muslim who goes to bed with His stomach full when his neighbor is hungry". We therefore deliver meals to poorer Schools, Safety Homes, Mentally and Physically Handicapped Schools in and around Laudium, Atteridgeville, Lotus Gardens and the environs. A daily feeding scheme is run from our head office at 330 Carmine Street Laudium where the destitute are given hot meals and other social welfare services. These services are available to anyone in the locality without discriminating on racial, religious or creed lines. Furthermore in Marabastad, which is the hub of Pretoria, we also feed at Masjid al Rahman every Friday where we teach revert Muslims the basics of Islam.

Atteridgeville Masjid & River-runs-Through Madressah

Every week, the IIS assists Darul Ulooms that are operated by UCTI to run the feeding schemes. Children from various disadvantaged communities are direct beneficiaries of this feeding scheme assistance.

Girls Orphanage & Old Age Home Feeding.

In Springs, the IIS helps to feed the orphans that are entrusted to the Orphanage. Every month, the IIS donates a substantial amount that goes towards the orphanage as well as the caring for the old aged. This financial assistance helps to foster and cherish the needy Muslim orphans according to the tenants of Islam. This also promotes the Islamic way of life amongst such orphans by imparting religious knowledge to them.

Qurbani 2010

By the grace of Allah (swt), the IIS India Bihar District Operation Qurbani was successfully carried out, Alhamdulillah! Hafez Yusuf Joosub, the IIS representative flew to and on the following day, he was met by the other SA delegation that left earlier on. The group left for Delhi to connect to Patna via a train. Along the way, they faced endless hardship of interrogation by the authorities because their visit coincided with the recent bombings in India. Every roadblock they met was a nightmare as questions after questions were heaped upon them. Nevertheless
