Bam - Iran Earthquake - 2004

More than 50,000 families, victims of the devastating earthquake that struck the city of Bam, in south-eastern Iran on December 26, received aid from the Institute for Islamic Services of South Africa. Thousands of tents, blankets, clothing as well as food, bottled water, plastic sheeting, water purifying tablets, mattresses, and other relief goods. The organization coordinated with other relief workers, medical staff, as well as volunteers on the ground, in and around Bam. It helped set up medical facilities as well as several mobile medical units.
