The Institute

The Institute for Islamic Services was humbly started by a group of young enthusiastic Muslims with the main objective of imparting the message of Islam as well as to play a role in assisting those who are faced with different social disadvantages. This objective of Social welfare coupled with Dawah was to invite all people (most of whom were unaware of Muslim beliefs and practices), to the total way of Life- ISLAM for the pleasure of Allah (swt) as was taught by the last Prophet Muhammad (saw). Initially the Dawah efforts were faced with an up-hill due to the late 70?s apartheid socio-political conditions. These conditions enabled us to only recruit a few individuals from Atteridgeville and Saulsville. But by the grace of the Almighty, ALHAMDULILLAH there are thousands and thousands of Muslim families in Lotus Gardens, Atteridgeville, Saulsville, Mabopane, Soshanguve Winterveld, Hammanskraal, as well as far and wide. All achieved through the tireless efforts and dedication of our members and the many volunteers.

As the Institute gained momentum we found it necessary to establish offices. By the Grace of Almighty Allah we are pleased to announce that from our humble beginnings we now have fully-fledged Dawah and welfare centers that also house our Radio Station, Day Care Centers, Madressahs, Feeding Schemes, Jammat Khanas, Book facilities, Audio-Visual facilities, Welfare facilities etc. We are the only Muslim Organization in the Pretoria area that is established and operates from its own offices with experienced fulltime Dawah and Social workers. By the Grace and Rahmah of Almighty Allah Subhanawatallah we have purchased buildings that we run our operations from so that we are easily accessible to the public and community at large. The facilities exist in Laudium, White-Blocks, Soshanguve, Lotus Gardens, Offices at Marabastad etc. In other words, the I.I.S. was founded with its main aims and objectives being to serve humanity irrespective of ethnic, race or religious convictions & background for the pleasure of the Almighty Allah in accordance to the teachings of the Holy Prophet (swt).

Qurbani 2010

By the grace of Allah (swt), the IIS India Bihar District Operation Qurbani was successfully carried out, Alhamdulillah! Hafez Yusuf Joosub, the IIS representative flew to and on the following day, he was met by the other SA delegation that left earlier on. The group left for Delhi to connect to Patna via a train. Along the way, they faced endless hardship of interrogation by the authorities because their visit coincided with the recent bombings in India. Every roadblock they met was a nightmare as questions after questions were heaped upon them. Nevertheless
